National Board for Professional Teaching Standards Certification Testing

Introduction to National Board Certification

The National Board for Professional Teaching Standards (NBPTS) is dedicated to elevating the quality of education by setting rigorous standards for teaching excellence. Established with a mission to enhance both teaching and learning, NBPTS achieves this by:

  1. Maintaining Rigorous Standards: Defining what accomplished teachers should know and be able to do.
  2. Certifying Excellence: Offering a voluntary certification system for teachers who meet these high standards.
  3. Advocating for Reform: Promoting educational reforms that integrate National Board Certification into the broader educational system and leveraging the expertise of certified teachers.

Partnering with Pearson VUE

To facilitate the National Board Certification process, NBPTS has partnered with Pearson VUE. Pearson VUE, known for its secure and reliable testing services, manages the administration of online assessments for National Board Certification at various locations throughout the United States.
