How to Apply for Certification

To become eligible for the DABT credential, candidates must:

  1. Apply Online: Submit an application via the ABT website.
  2. Receive Authorization: Obtain an Authorization to Test (ATT) notice, which includes your Candidate ID # and Client Authorization ID #.
  3. Schedule Your Exam: Use the IDs from your ATT notice to schedule your exam through Pearson VUE.

Your name on the ATT notice must match exactly with the government-issued photo ID you present at the testing center. Any discrepancies could result in being denied entry to the exam and forfeiting your examination fee. If your names do not match, contact ABT at candidates@metacred.com at least 30 days before your test date.

Special Accommodations

Candidates requiring special accommodations must submit their request at the time of initial application. Detailed procedures are outlined in the Candidate Handbook, available on the ABT website.

  • Identification: Present one valid, government-issued photo ID that matches your ATT notice. A secondary ID is recommended.
  • Personal Items: Leave all personal items, including electronic devices, in a designated locker. Only essential items like your ID are permitted in the testing room.

Rescheduling and No-Show Policies

  • Rescheduling: You can reschedule your exam to a different center within the current year, subject to availability, by contacting Pearson VUE at least 48 hours before your appointment.
  • No-Show: Failure to attend your scheduled exam will result in forfeiture of the exam fee. To retake the exam, you will need to reapply and pay the examination fee again.

Refund and Exam Results

  • Refund Policy: The exam fee is non-refundable and cannot be transferred to future years.
