Application and Exam Scheduling

  1. Application Process: Before scheduling your exam, you must submit an application to ALA, along with the required exam and maintenance fees. For detailed application instructions, visit the ALA Certification Application page.
  2. Scheduling Your Exam:
    • Create a Pearson VUE Account: First-time test takers must create a Pearson VUE account. Note that this process can take up to 24 hours, and you will receive an email notification once your account is activated.
    • Obtain Your HumRRO ID: As the exam is coordinated through HumRRO, you will need your HumRRO ID# to schedule your exam.
    • Schedule Your Appointment: Exam appointments can be scheduled up to one business day in advance, subject to availability.
    Important Note: Whether you are testing at a Pearson VUE Test Center or via online proctoring, you must present a current government-issued ID that matches the name used in your Pearson VUE account. Discrepancies between your ID and account details can lead to denial of entry and forfeiture of your exam fee.
