Eight years ago, Proctorio was founded with a clear vision: to revolutionize the remote proctoring industry by creating software that ensures both maximum privacy and uncompromised integrity in online test-taking. Today, as we celebrate our eighth anniversary, we reflect on our journey, the milestones we’ve reached, and the exciting future that lies ahead.

From the very beginning, Proctorio has been at the forefront of innovation in remote proctoring. Our launch was marked by the introduction of Zero-Knowledge Encryption, a groundbreaking methodology that guarantees that only institution-approved individuals have access to the encryption keys required to decrypt exam recordings. This commitment to privacy has been a cornerstone of our approach, ensuring that test-takers’ data is protected at all times.

Over the past eight years, our dedication to these principles has resonated with educational institutions worldwide. Today, Proctorio proudly partners with over 2,500 institutions globally, and we have successfully proctored more than 35 million exams, with over 25 million of these exams conducted since April 2020. This rapid growth underscores the trust that our partners place in our ability to provide secure, reliable, and ethical proctoring solutions.

Expanding Our Vision: A New Home for a Growing Team

As Proctorio continues to grow, so too does our team. In May, we are thrilled to move into a new office space designed to support our expanding workforce. With 124 dedicated employees, this new environment will offer the resources and space needed to continue developing industry-leading solutions and providing exceptional support to our partners.

But our commitment to innovation doesn’t stop at software. Our new office is designed with sustainability in mind, featuring an energy system capable of generating more power than the building consumes. This system is expected to produce an average of 156 megawatts per year—enough to power almost nine average homes annually. This initiative is a testament to our dedication to not only fostering growth and innovation but also contributing positively to the environment.

Giving Back: Supporting Our Community

As we move forward, we remain committed to giving back to the communities that have supported us. As part of our office relocation, we are donating the hardware from our previous space to local organizations. This donation will help these organizations equip their teams with the tools they need to excel in their professional endeavors, furthering our mission to support educational and professional growth in every way we can.
