How to Prepare for Your IFSE Exam

To ensure a smooth examination process, follow these essential steps before scheduling your exam:

  1. Enroll in Your Course: Visit the IFSE website to enroll in the relevant course and corresponding exam. Enrollment should be completed prior to scheduling your examination.
  2. Verify Exam Status: Check your exam status under the “EXAMS” link on your IFSE student dashboard. Your status should be marked as “Active” before proceeding.
  3. Receive Exam Information: Look for an email from IFSE titled “Important Exam Information.” This email will provide crucial details about your exam schedule and requirements.

Requesting Test Accommodations

If you require special accommodations due to disabilities or other needs, follow these steps:

  1. Contact IFSE Institute: Reach out to IFSE to request accommodations well before scheduling your exam. Approval is necessary to ensure that your needs are met.
  2. Schedule with Pearson VUE: Once accommodations are approved, contact Pearson VUE’s Accommodations Scheduling Specialists at 1-800-466-0450 to arrange your exam appointment.
  3. For Additional Assistance: If you need further clarification, contact IFSE at 1-888-865-2437 or email ifse@ifse.ca.

Locating a Testing Center

To find a suitable test center, visit the Test Center Locator on the IFSE website. This tool will help you identify authorized locations for administering IFSE exams.

Scheduling, Rescheduling, or Cancelling Exam Appointments

  1. Follow Instructions: Refer to the “Important Exam Information” email for detailed instructions on scheduling, rescheduling, or cancelling your exam through Pearson VUE.
  2. Online Transactions: You can manage your exam appointments directly through the IFSE website. Requests must be made at least 24 hours before your scheduled appointment to avoid forfeiture of your exam attempt and associated fees.
  3. Confirmation: After scheduling, rescheduling, or cancelling, you should receive an email confirmation from Pearson VUE within 24 hours. If you do not receive a confirmation, verify that the transaction was completed in your account or contact Pearson VUE for assistance.
  4. No-Show Policy: Failure to provide sufficient notice or not attending your exam will result in forfeiture of the exam attempt and applicable fees. Additionally, IFSE will impose a no-show fee.

On the Testing Date

  1. Arrival: Arrive at the test center at least 15 minutes before your scheduled appointment to complete the sign-in process.
  2. Identification: Be prepared to present one form of valid ID, have your digital photo taken, and provide a digital signature.
  3. Late Arrival: Arriving more than 15 minutes late may result in refusal of admission and forfeiture of your exam attempt and fees. A no-show fee will also be charged by IFSE.

Non-Disclosure and Code of Conduct Agreement

At the start of your exam, you will be required to review and accept the terms of the IFSE Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) on-screen. You have two minutes to choose “Accept” or “Decline.” Failure to make a selection within this time frame will result in the termination of your exam and necessitate a new authorization payment to IFSE.
