Exam Scheduling and Details

Scheduling Your Exam

To schedule a certification exam, you must make an appointment at least 24 hours in advance, subject to availability. Note that the total time for the appointment includes time for the Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA), the exam itself, and a post-exam survey. The exam can be scheduled through Pearson VUE, which provides a range of testing options.

Exam Format

Ping Identity offers two types of exams:

  • Professional Exams: These are computer-based assessments featuring multiple-choice questions that evaluate your foundational knowledge and administrative skills.
  • Expert Exams: These assessments include both multiple-choice questions and practical lab exercises, testing more advanced skills in implementation and maintenance.

Preparation Tips

Although Ping Identity training courses are not specifically designed as certification prep, they align closely with the exam objectives. Here are key steps to prepare:

  1. Review Exam Objectives: Focus on high-impact tasks that are performed infrequently, such as initial installations.
  2. Complete Related Training: Enroll in relevant training courses. For instance, if you are pursuing the Certified Professional – PingAccess certification, it is recommended to attend the PingAccess Administration Training.
  3. Gain Hands-On Experience: Accumulate 6 months to 1 year of practical experience with the respective Ping Identity product.

This agreement is presented at the start of the exam and ensures that you understand and adhere to the program’s policies. Detailed information can be found in the Certification Exams Policies and Procedures Guide.

Exam Retake Policy

If you do not pass an exam on your first attempt, you have up to two additional opportunities to retake it. The policy requires mandatory waiting periods between retakes:

  • After the first attempt: A seven-day waiting period.
  • After the second attempt: A 14-day waiting period.

Should you require additional attempts beyond the second, please contact Ping Identity to discuss your options. You will not be able to schedule another attempt until the waiting period has elapsed
