Important Update: CPCS Renewal Testing Transition and Key Information

As of August 22, 2024, Pearson VUE will no longer administer CPCS renewal testing. Moving forward, all CPCS exams will be conducted exclusively through NOCN Group. To ensure a smooth transition and uninterrupted certification process, it’s crucial to understand the changes and follow the necessary steps.

Key Deadline: Use Your NOCN Group Vouchers by August 21, 2024

All existing NOCN Group vouchers must be redeemed by Wednesday, August 21, 2024. After this date, vouchers will no longer be valid. Please note that vouchers are non-refundable and non-transferable. Ensure you use your vouchers before the deadline to avoid any loss.

About the CPCS Renewal Test

To maintain your CPCS Blue Competent Operator card, you need to pass the CPCS Renewal Test. This test verifies that you have kept your knowledge up-to-date for each plant category or group of categories listed on your card.

Test Overview

  • Purpose: To ensure continued competence in plant operation.
  • Format: Each test lasts 15 minutes, covering essential knowledge expected from experienced plant operators.
  • Development: Created in collaboration with industry experts to align with construction plant and trades needs.
  • Number of Tests: You must take a renewal test for each category or group of categories on your card.

Test Requirements

If you have added a new category to your CPCS Blue Competent Operator card within the last two years, you are exempt from taking the renewal test for that specific category during the renewal process.

History: The CPCS Renewal Test has been a requirement since October 2013.

Test Scheduling and Location

Initially, you could take the Renewal Test at Pearson VUE test centers. However, from August 22, 2024, all testing will be administered by NOCN. You may also choose to take the test alongside the CITB Health, Safety, and Environment Test if desired.

Important: Tests must be completed before your existing CPCS Blue Competent Operator card expires. All tests must be passed for successful renewal.
