How to Schedule and Take Your Test

Step 1: Register with IOS

Before scheduling your exam, ensure you are registered with IOS. Once registered, you will receive detailed instructions via email on how to schedule your exam through Pearson VUE.

Step 2: Confirm Agency Participation

If you’re interested in applying to a public safety agency that uses IOS for testing, check if the agency participates in the REACH™ program. If not listed, contact the agency to express your interest in their adoption of the IOS REACH™ program and Pearson VUE’s national testing capabilities.

Step 3: Scheduling Your Exam

• Appointments: You can schedule your exam up to 24 hours in advance, subject to availability. To book or reschedule, use the Pearson VUE system with the candidate ID provided in your confirmation email.
• Rescheduling Policy: To avoid forfeiture of your exam fee, reschedule or cancel your appointment with more than 24 hours’ notice.
