Nursing Council of New Zealand: Essential Guide for Internationally Qualified Nurses

Overview

The Nursing Council of New Zealand plays a pivotal role in ensuring public health and safety by setting high standards for nursing practice. For internationally qualified nurses (IQNs) seeking registration in New Zealand, the Council requires successful completion of a competence assessment, which includes passing both the IQN Theoretical Examination and the Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE).

Examination Requirements for Internationally Qualified Nurses

To achieve nursing registration in New Zealand, IQNs must undertake and pass two key examinations:

  1. IQN Theoretical Examination
  2. Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE)

For detailed information on examination requirements, visit the Nursing Council registration page for IQNs.
