Scheduling Your Assessment

Before scheduling your assessment, follow these steps:

  1. Create an Account: Use the assessment-specific Application Number provided in your registration/invitation correspondence to create an account on the Pearson VUE portal. This correspondence, sent by the PNRO, will include detailed instructions.
  2. Check Your Email: Your authorization-to-test email will arrive in the email account used during your Oriel application. Ensure you check your spam/junk folder if you do not see it in your inbox. For any issues, contact FAI Registrar.
  3. Booking Your Slot: Once your account is set up, locate your nearest Pearson VUE test center and schedule your appointment. Note that appointments are available on a first-come, first-served basis and can be booked up to one business day in advance.
  4. Changing or Cancelling: You can reschedule your appointment up to 48 hours before your test by logging into your Pearson VUE account and selecting ‘Reschedule’. If you need to cancel, do so at least 48 hours prior to your scheduled time.

Test Day Information

Arrival: Arrive at the Pearson VUE test center 15 minutes before your appointment time. For example, if your appointment is at 9:00 AM, be there by 8:45 AM.

Identification Requirements: Present one form of valid government-issued ID with your name, photograph, and signature. Ensure that the name on your ID matches exactly the name used during registration. For further details, refer to the Pearson VUE ID Policy.

Allowed Items:

  • Calculator: You may bring one of the following approved calculators:
    • Casio MX-8S-WE
    • Casio MX 8B-WE / MX-8B
    • Aurora HC133
    • Aurora DT210
    Note: Calculators on smartphones or tablets are not permitted. Ensure your calculator is functional, and consider bringing a spare.
  • Erasable Noteboard: An erasable noteboard and pen will be provided for note-taking. Return the noteboard at the end of your session.

Prohibited Items:

  • Mobile phones
  • Electronic devices
  • Books, notes, or notepaper
  • Bags and personal belongings

Store these items in a secure locker outside the testing room. Only your ID and approved calculator are allowed inside.

Assessment Structure

The assessment comprises the following components:

  1. Tutorial: A brief introduction to the test interface and navigation (15 minutes).
  2. Numeracy Test: 10 questions to be completed in 20 minutes.
  3. Situational Judgement Test (SJT): 52 questions to be completed in 104 minutes.
  4. Feedback Survey: A short survey for feedback (10 minutes).

Reasonable Adjustments

If you have approved reasonable adjustments, such as additional time, ensure this is reflected in your Universal Profile in the FAI CSOD. Contact FAI Registrar with your accommodation letter to confirm arrangements. For adjustments other than extra time, you will be contacted by Pearson VUE about three months before your test date.

Time Extensions: The usual total exam duration is 149 minutes. Approved extra time will be added to this duration based on the percentage of additional time granted.
