Applying for Certification

To apply for certification, follow these steps:

  1. Log in to the MyCert Portal: Access the portal to submit your examination application.
  2. Submit Your Application and Payment: Complete the application process and ensure that examination fees are paid in full.
  3. Receive Approval: Wait for ASNT CS’s confirmation and Pearson VUE’s Authorization to Test email.

Scheduling Your Examination

You can schedule your exam through Pearson VUE, either online or via phone. Ensure that you have:

  • Submitted your application and fees through the MyCert portal.
  • Received approval from ASNT CS.
  • Received authorization from Pearson VUE.

For online scheduling, create an account if you are a new ASNT member or log in if you are a returning candidate. To schedule by phone, contact Pearson VUE customer service.

Rescheduling and Cancellation

To reschedule or cancel an exam:

  • Online: Log in to the MyCert portal or call Pearson VUE.
  • Timeline: Ensure changes are made at least 48 hours before the appointment to avoid forfeiting the exam fee.

On Exam Day

  1. Arrival: Arrive at the test center 30 minutes early to complete check-in procedures.
  2. Identification: Present two valid forms of ID:
    • Primary ID: Government-issued with photo and signature.
    • Secondary ID: With name and signature or photo.

Ensure IDs are original, unexpired, and match your ASNT account details. Discrepancies must be addressed with ASNT CS at least 72 hours before the exam.

  1. Exam Conditions: You will be required to take a photo and provide a signature before starting. A built-in calculator is available on the exam software. All exams are conducted in US English, but an online exam dictionary provides translations in Arabic, Korean, Mandarin, Spanish, and British English.

Certification and Recertification

Upon passing all required exams, you will receive a digital badge and can verify your certification through the Certificate Holder Directory.
